چکیده

Abstract Ecological restoration (ER) programs play an important role in local and global climate change carbon management policy interventions. Water resource is a key criterion for assessing the sustainability of ERs. Herein, we explored spatiotemporal patterns rainfall interception (RI, component ecosystem water budgets), its drivers after ER implementation China. Further, assessed whether ERs are sustainable by analyzing trends RI supply. As expected, found that caused increase China from 2001 to 2018 (0.64 mm yr −1 , p < 0.01). Changes normalized difference vegetation index leaf area contributed higher compared with other drivers. The decrease was mainly recorded Qinghai–Tibet Plateau Southwest, northern North, southern Central Southern Conversely, increasing trend Loess Northwest, Northeast, East Moreover, not always unsustainable China, especially East, Southern, high-latitude regions North Even Plateau, which criticized previous studies, unsustainability occurred only semi-humid region. Future should be prioritized parts Eastern, Central, must appropriately considered Northeast It alert pressures on supply, demand remains vigilant semihumid areas Plateau. This study provides new ideas accurately evaluating impact security

Review of Ecological Restoration Technology for Mine Tailings in China

Article history: Received: 11.11.2014. Received in revised form: 4.2.2015. Accepted: 6.2.2015. The disposal of mine tailings is identified as one source of an environmental impact finally resulting in a typically degraded ecosystem. It can easily cause air and water pollution and is a source of man-made mudslides with high-potential socioeconomic-energy impacts. Pollution control and ecological...

An ecological based sustainability assessing system for cropping system

The assessment of sustainability in cropping system is an important issue for natural resources management and environmental protection. Incorporating the geographical information system (GIS) and remote sensing (RS) technologies, an initial idea of the crop sustainability assessing system was thus proposed, based on ecosystem services value (ESV) assessing criterions. The system is basically c...

Biodiversity Conservation in Rice Paddies in China: Toward Ecological Sustainability

Rice paddies are artificial wetlands that supply people with food and provide wildlife with habitats, breeding areas, shelters, feeding grounds and other services, and rice paddies play an important part in agricultural ecological systems. However, modern agricultural practices with large-scale intensive farming have significantly accelerated the homogenization of the paddy field ecosystem. Mod...

Rainfall Interception by Sacramento's Urban Forest

A one-dimensional mass and energy balance model was developed to simulate rainfall interception in Sacramento County, California. The model describes tree interception processes: gross precipitation, leaf drip, stem flow, and evaporation. Kriging was used to extend existing meteorological point data over the region. Regional land use/ land cover and tree canopy cover were parameterized with dat...

Factors Affecting Migration Intentions in Ecological Restoration Areas and Their Implications for the Sustainability of Ecological Migration Policy in Arid Northwest China

Ecological migration policy has been proposed and implemented as a means for depopulating ecological restoration areas in the arid Northwest China. Migration intention is critical to the effectiveness of ecological migration policy. However, studies on migration intention in relation to ecological migration policy in China remain scant. Thus this paper aims to investigate the rural residents’ m...
